Well another magic week has passed and the weather has certainly played its part in contributing to a terrific school holiday week for our guests from all over Australia! Monday last week dawned with clearing skies that provided a sneak preview of what mother nature had delivered over the weekend - accompanied by a wild storm with plenty of wind and blizzard conditions! The skiing and boarding over the coming few days was excellent with dry packed powder conditions across the resort up until yesterday when the winds warmed up a little and the moisture associated with this next cold front arrived! Not to worry, as has been the pattern this season the damp day yesterday was followed by snow overnight and into this morning, providing for a lovely day up here today with 15cm of fresh snow- check out the cams!
If you haven't dined out up here this season I can recommend Zirky's Restaurant for a lovely asian inspired menu, Zirky's Steer n Beer bar which in the opinion of good friends of mine served up the "best steak" they have ever had or Whiteroom for all things spanish! Down at DP there is substantial choice with Rundells for some great high country fine dining, to Cilantro for Tapas so well prepared by owner and head chef Tim Griffiths and of course Tusbo makes for a great night out with owner/chef Hamish Nugent preparing some magical Japanese style dishes for his guests! There is a night bus service between the two villages, operating 5 nights per week - so there is no excuse not to get out and sample some of the great restaurants we have up here at Hotham and DP.
Until next time, have a great week wherever you may be and we look forward to welcoming you to Hotham soon!
