Property/Rooms Division Manager

Reporting to the General Manager of the Mount Hotham Skiing Company (MHSC), this dynamic position is responsible for all aspects of a large Property Management portfolio including Company owned properties, chalets and apartments under Management Agreements and leased staff accommodation properties. This is a rare year round opportunity at Hotham Alpine Resort located in the beautiful Victorian Alps.

Drawing on your knowledge and experience, this position is responsible for the day to day management of the company property portfolio. Hotel reception, commercial cleaning and the upkeep and maintenance of commercial and residential properties are just part of this varied role. Time will also be spent coordinating property upgrades during the non-winter season. You will also be responsible for budget preparation as well as owner and guest accounting so numerical literacy and an analytical mind is mandatory. The successful candidate will identify new Management Agreement opportunities and source properties for staff accommodation for the winter season.

In order to succeed in this role you will be highly motivated with the ability to work both autonomously and remotely as well as fit into a tight knit team to achieve deadlines and budget targets. Strong organisational and communication skills are key as well as the ability to negotiate contracts.

We are looking for a team player with either previous property management experience or Rooms Division management experience, ideally in a tourism, hotel/motel or leisure related environment. Prior snow experience would be viewed favourably however is definitely not essential. Consideration will be given to candidates who wish to reside off mountain in the non-winter season although an on-mountain presence will be required on a regular basis for the period of October through May each year.
