Mt Hotham Skiing Company (MHSC) is the largest operator at Hotham Alpine Resort and seeks exciting, innovative and dynamic individuals each year to join our team working at the top of the Victorian Alps. Owned by Merlin Entertainments Group, the company is responsible for the skifield operations including snow grooming, snowmaking, lifts, snowsports school, tickets, guest services, retail, equipment hire, day spas, property, maintenance, reservations, events, marketing, Hotham Airport and more.

 Technical Director - Snowports

Hotham Snowsports is looking for a Technical Director for the 2015 season and beyond.

The successful candidate would be extremely motivated, have a great work ethic as well as being an organised and well qualified individual. The successful candidate MUST have an APSI Level 4 qualification with experience training for the APSI and would have been involved in the Australian Snowsports industry for a minimum of 6 years. An intimate knowledge of the RTP booking and scheduling system would be advantageous. 

As the Technical Director your duties would include (but not be limited to):

  • Scheduling training for all Alpine and Snowboard Levels in accordance with APSI prerequisites
  • Training Alpine or Snowboard Levels depending upon your discipline
  • Co-Ordinating the Hotham Skills Clinic for new hire instructors
  • Scheduling work activities for instructors
  • Managing the meeting place at lesson times and allocating work
  • Booking lessons and selling tickets when required
  • General supervising duties and working closely with the Director and other managers
  • Problem solving when required.

 Mighty Mites Program Supervisor - Snowsports

An exciting opportunity has become available in the Snowsports Supervisory Team.

The Mighty Mites 3-5 years Program Supervisor is required to manage the program, ensure that MHSC’s clients are extended excellent customer service, maintain a professional, enthusiastic approach and be well groomed at all times. This position also assists in the management and operation of the Kids Snowzone including budgets, OHS requirements, DHS regulations, Food Handling procedures, supervision of employees and assisting with daily administrative requirements.

The successful candidate will have the appropriate teaching qualifications to train employees and impart knowledge to trainees as well as the skills required to manage a large dynamic team of instructors. This person will have a passion for teaching children and have a fantastic work ethic. The successful candidate will have a can do attitude and a desire to constantly improve themselves and the program. This person should also have an intimate knowledge of rostering and sales systems in general and RTP in particular. 

As the Mighty Mites Supervisors your key duties would include:

  • Supervising & training qualified & committed employees at the Kids Snowzone
  • Appropriate rostering of the Mighty Mites program to take into account expected levels of business at the Kids Snowzone
  • Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of MHSC's Food Safety Program and ensuring that MHSC’s legal requirements are achieved
  • Cooperate with MHSC’s management team and other employees in the coordination of special events that may be hosted at Mount Hotham
  • Assisting and recommending advice to the Kids Snowzone Director in staff performance management issues.
