Our mission at the Hotham Snowports Centre is to provide a comprehensive range of ski and boarding programs for all ages and abilities in a fun and safe environment.

Every season, more people are taking the opportunity to ski and board with their own instructor, highlighting the value provided through one to one instruction.

"Learn to Ski & Board" has proven to be a popular program with walk on access to the two beginner areas, ensuring a nice relaxed start.

Over 120 qualified ski and snowboard instructors are on hand to assist you in learning the finer points of skiing in a fun and exploratory environment!

Choose from group lessons, private lessons with your own instructor, or one of the special programs if you want to work on a particular aspect of your skiing.

* Group Lessons are of 2 hr duration (minimum 3 people) If the group comprises less than 3 people, the lesson reverts to 1 hour duration. Group lesson times: 10.00am & 1.30pm. Meeting location for all Adult Lessons is outside the Hotham Central building - arrival is recommended 10 mins before lesson time. The Learn to Ski/Board ticket is a one day product and is ideal for those who have never skied or boarded before. Learn to Ski 1 and/ or 2 day Pass includes:One/two days unlimited use of the Big D Quad Chairlift, the Summit Quad Chairlift, the Summit Trainer and the Big D Trainer plus a 2 hr group lesson for beginners (level 6).

Learn to Ski 3 and/ or 5 Day Pass includes: First 2 days unlimited use of the Big D Quad Chairlift, the Summit Quad Chairlift, the Summit Trainer and the Big D Trainer plus a two hour group lesson(each day) designed for beginners. Then graduating on the 3rd day to an all mountain lift and lesson pass.

Family Learn to ski Program includes:  One day unlimited use of the Big D Quad Chairlift, The Summit Quad Chairlift and the Summit Trainer for 2 adults & 2 children, plus a 90 minute introductory private lesson.

Meeting Places & Times

Adult Group lesson Times: 10.00 am or 1.30 pm. Hotham Central caters for all adult lessons from beginner to advanced levels for both skiers and snowboarders. * No adult programs are available at the Big D. Hotham Central caters for all adult lessons.

The Big D is for Learn to Ski & Board and Kids Snowzone. All Kids Snowzone programs are conducted at the Big D.Children's first timer group lesson times:Classes start 9.15am or 1.00pm. at the Big D.

Under 8 Guarantee

All adult afternoon group lessons at Hotham now come with an "under 8 guarantee" (* conditions apply).

This guarantee ensures you are in a group lesson with no more than 8 participants. Furthermore, the smaller group size will see a closer aligning of your skill level and more personal contact with your instructor.

* Not applicable July and August weekends and July School Holidays.
